As the winter season begins to transform into spring, the comfort of a warm cup of soup can ease those post-holiday blues. The annual soup cookoff takes place in February.
Different community organizations and individuals in the community make a pot of soup and then you get to walk around to each table and taste each soup. There is a healthy dose of competition with prizes for the best-decorated table and the best-tasting soup. Fun for the entire family can be found here with face painting, craft and coloring stations for the kids, homemade desserts for sale, and a dessert auction.
All the proceeds of this event go toward the preservation of the facilities and financial support for events throughout the year. There is no entry fee to submit a soup, so if you’re a home chef or a business in need of some free networking this is a great way to get involved in the community. The cost of entry to the event is a $5 donation.
The Annual Soup Cook-Off is the biggest fundraiser for the historical preservation of the Historic Carmelite Monastery & Sisters of Mercy Academy. Please consider joining up for our 36th soup cook-off. We also are grateful for donations throughout the year.
